Bengtskär lighthouse is the tallest in the Nordic countries. Completed in 1906, this granite edifice towers 52 metres above the sea. The bleak rocky island of Bengtskär is situated 25 kilometres southwest of the town of Hanko and is the southernmost populated part of Finland.
